City agree on £27m Dzeko deal

Manchester City have agreed on a cut-price deal of £27 million for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.

Last week, the Bundesliga club wanted £38million for the Bosnian hitman.

But according to The Sun newspaper, Steve McClaren's side have reached a compromise in order for the deal to go through by the end of this week.

That is good news for City and manager Roberto Mancini, who is desperate to unleash him in the Premier League.

With the transfer fee - which is expected to include add-ons - agreed on, all that is left is the ironing out of personal terms with the 24-year-old.

Dzeko is likely to be offered a five-year deal worth £100,000 a week and could make his debut as early as 15 January against Wolves at Eastlands.

The signing will bring an end to a 18-month pursuit of the striker by City.

Meanwhile, Dzeko's arrival will catalyze the departures of Roque Santa Cruz and Emmanuel Adebayor, who has been linked with Real Madrid.
